Some new features of USB 3.0 to 2.5" SSD Expansion board for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B V2.0:
The X825 expansion board provides a complete storage solution for the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, it supports up to 4TB 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drives (HDD) / Solid-State Drive (SSD). Only 2.5 inch SATA interface HDD/SDD hard disk is suitable for the X825 Base.
Note: This is meant for the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B mainboard only as of the placement of the USB 3.0 port.

However, Geekworm does not recommend using Samsung SSD because they found the EMC of Samsung SSD is quite high and might affect the operation.
Here is a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B boot up from the 2.5" MakerDisk SSD (at the bottom) via the X825 expansion base.
