LCD with Pre-Soldered Header Pin - Green

Universal type 2 x 16 liquid crystal display (LCD) character module, with yellow backlight, ideal for embedded system development. A row of male header pins has been soldered for easy prototyping (just plug into breadboard). Suitable for Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

When you are using this LCD, you have choice whether to light up the backlight or not. If you choose to light up the LCD screen, then it would be like the picture below. To light up the LCD screen just connect LCD pin K to GND.

Or you don't wanna light up the LCD screen, just disconnect the LCD pin K from GND.

  • Pin 1: LCD VSS pin to GND
  • Pin 2: LCD VDD pin to 5V
  • Pin 3: LCD V0 pin to 10k potentiometer (contrast adjustment)
  • Pin 4: LCD RS to digital pin 12
  • Pin 5: LCD RW pin to GND
  • Pin 6: LCD E pin to digital pin 11
  • Pin 11: LCD D4 pin to digital pin 5
  • Pin 12: LCD D5 pin to digital pin 4
  • Pin 13: LCD D6 pin to digital pin 3
  • Pin 14: LCD D7 pin to digital pin 2
