Everyone loves lighting, especially RGB LED :) This is an 8x8 NeoPixel (WS2812B or SK6812) LED Matrix flexible (bendable) panel. You can control all 64 ultra-bright LEDs using a single pin from a microcontroller, program each LED as you wish to scroll messages or draw little images. This matrix has a thick flexible PCB backing that can be gently bent and curved around surfaces.

You can use this matrix just like any other NeoPixel-compatible product.

With 64 LEDs, you can have up to 4A of current draw if all the LEDs are on bright white. You can use 5V 4A5V 2A and combine with DC Jack (female) to the terminal adapter. For portable use, if you are drawing less than 2A, you can try using Power Bank.

We also have a flexible NeoPixel Matrix in 8x32 if you love that 4:1 aspect ratio.

Note: Flexible PCBs are not designed for repeated flexing! While we think this product may work in wearables or other situations where the matrix is bent around, we do not offer any guarantees or refunds if you end up cracking the LEDs or traces! This is for advanced users only, who already know how to use NeoPixels and are comfortable with the high current requirements and protecting the matrix from damage. There are no returns, refunds or replacements for a damaged product. You cannot cut these panels into custom shapes as data/power lines run through the entire body of the PCB.

There are two 3-pin JST SM connectors to wire the Panel to controller and power source. Another pair of power wires for an additional 5V supply to the panel. Of course, you can choose jumper wires to bridge the connector to a power adapter and also your favorite controllers like Arduino UNO or Maker UNO.

Additionally, you can chain as many of these panels together as you'd like. For the second panel, connect the DIN connection to the first panel's DOUT, connect the ground pins together and power with 5V. It should be noted that after four or more panels you may run low on RAM if you're using an Arduino Uno and you may need a 5V 10A power supply for so many of these LEDs!

Every Panel is equipped with a single data line (In) with a very timing-specific protocol requiring a real-time microcontroller with an 8MHz or faster processor such as an AVR, Arduino, PIC, mbed, etc.

Applications:

  • Color Graphic LED display
  • Living room,
  • Interior lighting,
  • Lighting Control Panels,
  • Color LED Lighting for Object Recognition in Robotics

Pinouts:

INPUT PORT

  • 5V – This should be a regulated supply voltage 5VDC. More than 5.5VDC could harm the LED, less than 5V will either reduce brightness, or it just won’t turn on.
  • GND – The common, ground, 0V reference supply voltage.
  • DIN – Data from a microcontroller (or another WS2812 pixel) comes into this pin.

OUTPUT PORT

  • 5V – This should be a regulated supply voltage 5VDC. More than 5.5VDC could harm the LED, less than 5V will either reduce brightness, or it just won’t turn on.
  • GND – The common, ground, 0V reference supply voltage.
  • DOUT – Data is shifted out of this pin, to be connected to the input of another pixel or left floating if it is the last link in the chain.

Packing List:

  • 1 x WS2812B NeoPixel 8x8 LED Panel-64 LED
