Grove WiFi 8266 module is designed to enable your micro:bit (and other controllers too) to send/receive data over the internet through the Wi-Fi network. It is based on the Ai-Thinker's ESP-12F module and comes preloaded with the new Espressif ESP-AT firmware v2.2.0.

MakeCode extension is provided to help you go straight to building your awesome IoT projects with this super intuitive drag-and-drop programming interface. With this MakeCode extension, REKA:BIT can work seamlessly with the Grove WiFi 8266 module, thanks to its external power input feature that ensures sufficient power for the WiFi module to run properly.

Besides, we've also created the CircuitPython libraries for Raspberry Pi Pico and RP2040 devices. You can plug in the Grove WiFi 8266 module directly onto the Maker Pi RP2040 via any of the Grove ports, thus enabling it for IoT applications.

By utilizing the MakeCode extension & CircuitPython libraries, you can monitor your sensor data on ThingSpeak easily. ThingSpeak is available as a free service for non-commercial small projects. You can send up to 3 million messages a year or about 8,200 messages a day, with a 15 seconds message update interval limit.

Grove WiFi 8266 enables your non-IoT enabled controller boards to get connected to the internet. With Blynk, a user-friendly IoT platform, you are able to control the connected projects and read data from the sensors easily.

Telegram API is also supported by our MakeCode extension & CircuitPython libraries. You can deploy a secret compartment keeper to guard your precious chips and notify you via Telegram whenever the drawer is opened or closed.

All the pins of the ESP-12F are extended out to the standard 2.54mm (0.1 inch) pitch-to-pitch through-hole pads, should you need to access them.

May i know is it compatible with Edu-Bit or motor bit? Thank you. ( Aloysius Tan , 26/09/2021 )
Yes, it's compatible with EDU:BIT and any micro:bit expansion board as long as it breaks out the micro:bit IO pins. If the board doesn't come with the Grove port, you may need this cable for connection https://my.cytron.io/p-grove-4-pin-buckled-to-female-cable
