We do recommend it to those who wanted to use Raspberry Pi Build HAT together with the LEGO® Technic™ electronics parts, for example, Motors, Touch Sensor, Distance Sensor, LED matrix, etc. As the LEGO® Technic™ motors require a higher voltage supply than 5V that Raspberry Pi can share. Therefore, this PSU that outputs 8VDC is essential. With its 48W power rating and Raspberry Pi Build HAT, this PSU is able to power both Build HAT and Raspberry Pi computer along with all connected LEGO® Technic™ parts.
It also comes with a 1.5-meter long cable and 16 AWG wires to deliver power. The end of the cable is terminated with DC Barrel Jack (2.1mm center hole) which is just plugged and use with Raspberry Pi Build HAT, there is no polarity concern to be taken care of.
