    This is the latest 2.4GHz wireless transceiver module, based on nRF24L01+ from Nordic Semiconductor . This transceiver IC operates in the 2.4GHz band and has many new features! It takes all the coolness of the nRF2401+ and add some extra pipelines, buffers, and an auto-retransmit feature. Besides, it offers low cost wireless alternative compared to Bluetooth or XBee transceiver. Check out the explaination and examples shown by How to Mechatronics:

    Now we carry a basic board for nRF24L01+ in the smallest system possible. It includes the basic operating component and on board antenna . You can use it in you project without any wireless design , just need to leave an 8-pin interface to this module, use the SPI interface to control the module on transferring data.

    From what we tested in office, the communication range is around 10 to 20 meters in WiFi operating environment, outdoor is around 100 meters. Please do study the datasheet of nRF24L01+ before using this module. You will need two of this module to have communication. Protocol is a must to send/receive data.

    Note: Thsi is 3.3V module, VCC should be powered with 3.3VDC. Supplying 5V to VCC will burn the module. However, communication pins are 5V compatible.

    Check out the breakout board for nRF24L01+ module, it is very helpful for beginner.

    If I were to use this in a wi-fi area, do you mean that the transmission range would be down to 10m or unless i pair this with another component or else it would still be 100m ? ( Dev, 06/10/2015 )

    Hi,You will need to pair with another  RF Transceiver 2.4G for communication. For indoor with WiFi operating environment, the communication range is around 10 to 20 meters. For outdoor,  it is around 100 meters. Thanks. 

    does the device has encryption,or just a simple connection when connecting with computer wifi or mobilephone.i might need a secure connection with the device,eliminates unwanted control to the device if it visible. good device. ( electronic_sp, 01/07/2015 )

    2.4G does not mean it is compatible to WiFi :) This is not WiFi module, XBee is using 2.4GHz, Bluetooth is using 2.4GHz, WiFi is using 2.4GHz too, but there are not compatible. This is proprietary 2.4GHz transceiver module, it is not compatible with WiFi, nor Bluetooth. It has to pair with another 2.4G module. Please do check the datasheet for more info which can be downloaded under "Attachment" tab :)
