Cytron Motor Driver shield, dual channels, which offers 3A peak of current and 1.2A of current continuously at each channel. It is compatible with most Arduino main boards, Arduino or Genuino UNO, Mega, Leonardo, Zero, 101 and etc.

SHIELD-3AMOTOR uses DRV8871 SMD IC and support for both signed magnitude and locked anti-phase. Compare to the other shields, this item can handle higher current up to 3A together with auto current limit protection.

  • Bi-directional control for dual brushed DC motor.
  • Support motor voltage from 7VDC to 30VDC.
  • Maximum current up to 3A peak and 1.2A continuously, each channel.
  • Current limit protection.
  • Support 3.3V and 5V logic level input.
  • Stackable I/O header pin.
  • Selectable DIP switch mode for Signed Magnitude and Locked Anti-Phase.
  • Quick test switch for both channel.
  • Ready with connector for LSS05 (Auto-calibrate line sensor) for easy integration of line following robot.

can we use this driver for unipolar stepper motor?? ( ramli, 05/03/2020 )
Hi, we're sorry as this is not suitable. Thanks :)
When is Cytron going to make a 10amp arduino shield? Or even a 6amp arduino shield? ( Andy Goh, 07/04/2019 )
Is this driver can get input from PLC ?because our project want to control 6v motor. ( faiz, 14/02/2019 )
Hi, it depends on the type of PLC that you use. We recommend you to post on our forum as here is for short inquires only. :)
Does the board have a brake function? ( CK, 30/01/2019 )
SHield 3A: hi this motor driver uses chip DRV8871 which have slow decay(brake) function. you can refer to H-Bridge control at page 8 on
Do you have a CAD model of this one also? ( Ken, 14/12/2018 )
Hi, sorry we don't have it.
Can this motor driver handle dc motor spg50? ( Fateh, 03/05/2018 )
Hi, yes it is compatible. Thanks.
Can this driver drive a 2.8A per phase bipolar stepper motor? ( Teo, 05/12/2017 )
Hu, this motor driver is the Bi-directional control for dual brushed DC motor. Thanks.
Is the continuous current 1.2 amps per channel? Only specifies "(per channel)" for the max current.. ( Kyle Kelly, 11/11/2017 )
Hi, yes 1.2A per channel, we have state it under Features. Thanks.
